Service- for WWII - from Chardon he was bussed to Cleveland, then bussed to Port Clinton, stayed overnight, got on a train to Mississippi where he was assigned to an ordance company. He stayed with the 553rd company, tank throught the whole war which was for 30 months. He was in Belgium at the town of "Leige." 12 men were lost from the U-2 German Rockets. It was Christmas Eve during the German breakthrough knownas the battle of the buldge.
He was supposed to go to Japan from Europe, but the atom bomb was dropped on Japan and the war ended. He was shipped home from France.
