"Grand Mother Mary Lois Plum Derthick had a lovely singing voice, attended Hiram College, took the Great Books course from Chautauqua and went to Chicago for Elocution lessons. She gave readings all around thearea just for a short time and then sublimeted herself to the Reverend her husband and her family. She sang in the chour and was always putting on productions.
