Mrs. Ellen Estella Keyt, 81, who came to Oregon with an emigrant train as
a small girl, died at her home in Perrydale Sunday after a four monthillness.
Funeral services were at the Bollman chapel wednesday at 2 P.M. with Rev.
Kenneth Johnston, Pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial was
at Behtel Cemetery.
Except for a few years spent in Salem and eastern Oregon, Mrs. Keyt had
lived her entire life at Perrydale. Her father had come to California and
Oregon during the gold rush of 1846 & 1847.
Mrs. Keyt was born June 5, 1869 at Monomouth, Ill., daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Andrew Jackson Wise. She was married to David Lawerence Keyt at her
parents' home near Weston.
Ellen married David Lawrence Keyt, son of Ebenezer Connet Keyt and Amanda Doty, on 15 Nov 1887 in Weston, Umatilla Co., OR. (David Lawrence Keyt was born on 2 Mar 1862 in Perrydale, Polk Co., OR and died on 8 Aug 1931.)
