Margaret Williams' father was a cabinet maker and made the applewood candle
stand now owned by Irene Gary Reynolds (1973). Margaret and her mother and
sisters fled to the woods when the British soldiers of the Revolution
approached their home. They saw the soldiers carry out feather beds and rip
them open, smash everything breakable and carry away the chickens.

Margaret married Edward Connet, son of Gardner Connet and Elizabeth Marsh, on 15 Apr 1781. (Edward Connet was born on 10 Jun 1752 and died on 27 Oct 1807 in Westfield, NJ.)
