!In 1719 and 1722-3 John Plume Sr. made deeds to his only surviving son, Joseph, of land to be held "according to the law of England" to descend to his oldest son, and to be unalienable, and a similar deed to his grandson. "John, the son of my deceased son, John," in 1723. He owned much land and heentailed much of it upon his sons by deed. In 1702, Oct. 30, he gives a receipt, which is on the Derby records, for property put into his hands as an "attorney of Johnson & Worster" and signs the paper "John Plume." In one of his deeds he signs his name "John Plume," in another "John Plumbe." Joseph administered on his estate April 10 1728. Information is from the Plumb Family Album by H.B. Plumb.
