WAITE:
Jonathan and Jonathan were at Chester early, the father in 1765. he is among the "aged" in 1785. He was undoubtedly from the Charlestown and Malden family [of Waites]. From 1800 and later there were at Chester: Thomas, Jonathan, Samuel and Seth Wait. Without doubt all children of Jonathan, Sr. though possibly Samuel was son of Jonathan and Margaret (Smith) [I have to agree with this] who were married at Chester (intentions) May 3 1778 and had a son Samuel born March 26 1779. Jonathan Sr'.s wife was mary 1781.

This John wait may be the brother of Canada Wait ( daughter of Benjamen Wait and Martha Leonard)
This John may be the son of Thomas Wait WFT #20 Ped. 1754

I have been avle to go back beginning with my grandmother, Dorothy Waite,b;29June 1901 in Greenfield, MA; d/o Arthur Allen Waite and BerthaA. Waite. Arthur Allen Waite is s/o John E. Waite and Eliza Stoddard of Whately, MA. Bertha M. Waite is d/o Rufus D. Waite and Eunice A. Polley also of Whately, MA. Somewhere along the line, we are related to the Smith's who founded Smith University of Northamptom, MA. I just can't seem to find the connection. If you have any further, please contact me.

Jonathan married Elizabeth Corse, daughter of James Corse and Thankful Munn, on 23 Nov 1752. (Elizabeth Corse was born on 24 Aug 1724 in Northhampton, MA.)
