!BIOGRAPHY: On March 6 1751, John Ogden dedded land in Baskingridge to James Dunham, david Ross and wifed Hannah and Moses Ross and wife Phebe. Nov 1 1769 Nathaniel and Hannah Crane deeded land in Westfield to David Ross. His father, Daniel ross, had previously deededhim 102 acres in Westfield on Mar 21 1763. David Ross Sr. wih his wife Hanna was a a communicant member of the Presbyterian Church of Westfield in1773. There is a manuscript at the New Jersey Historical Society in Newark of the date of his marriage to his first wife and the dates of birth of his 8 oldest children. he filed in 1782 a claim for damage andtheft by the British during theRevolutionary War and occuring June 271777. An inventory of the damages was made by his sons, David and Eziediel, totalling to 73 pounds, 16 shillings and sixpence. He may have been the David Ross who was the contractor of the Westfield Church. He was probably the David Ross on the jury of the Westfield rial of Morgan for the murder of the Rev. Caldswell, Jan 21 1782.

David Ross married 1st, Hannah Sep 16 1742. Some say her maiden name may have been Ogden. She died Jan 31 1791, age 67 and is buried at theWestfield Presbyterian Church next to her husband. She was the mother of all his children.

David Ross was married 2nd Dec 18 1791 at the Presbyterian Church in Westfield to Hannah, daughter of Daniel Clark and widow of John Squire. She was the Hannah in David's will of 1795. She married third Jan4 1797 at the Westfield Church as Widow Hannah Ross to Matthias Hatfield. She was born May 19 1735 and died Jun 6 1805 at the home of herson Jnathan Squire in Rahway.

David Ross died Sep 9 1795 and is buried at the Presbyterian Church in Wesfield. His will is dated July 27 1795 and proved Sep 29 1795. The will mentions wife Hannah, eldest son David, father Daniel Ross deceased, son Ezekiel Ross, son-in-law Moses DeCamp, grandchildren, Hannah Marsh and Sarah Martin, Stephen Crane, son of Eliza Crane, grandsonDavid Crane, son of Eliza Crane, Sarah DeCamp, wife of Moses DeCamp, Jemimah Cory, wife of David Cory, Mary Maxfield, wife of Samuel Maxfield, Betsey Keyt, wife of James Keyt, Nancy Pierson, wife of Joseph Pierson and Phebe Crane wife of John Crane.
