William Ferris Jr.
William L. Ferris Jr., 55, of Kent, died Sunday Nov. 22, 1998, aftera short illness. Born April 16, 1943 in Erie, Pa., he was the son of William and Mary (Wertko). Ferris. He had attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent and Southeast schools. Mr. Ferris was the owner and operator of Du-Zee Products in Ravenna. A U.S. Amry veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Sea Bees, he was a member of Kent Veteransof Foreign Wars, Kent American Legion and the 40 and 8 of the American Legion. He also was a member of the Canadian Club of Kent, the Italian American Club of Ravenna and a former member of Carpenters Local No. 639. Survivors include his wife, Sandy (Klatka); son, William (Kim)of Kent; one grandchild; sister, Debra (Ron) Kaluzne of Cuyahoga Falls; mother and stepfather, Mary and Stanley Peterson of Brimfield. His father, William Sr., died previously. Calling hours will be held from6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, where a VFW service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday followed by services at 8 p.m., with the Rev. Everett Schleef officiating. William married Sandra Lee Klatka, daughter of Paul Karl Klatka and Wilma Frances Naftzger, on 28 Nov 1964. (Sandra Lee Klatka was born on 25 Jun 1946.) |
