He is said to have possessed unusual mechanical ability, and was detailed to a position of responsibility in the U.S. Army at Springfield, where he died in the year 1778 at the age of 38
Farmingtion probate records 25 Dec 1778 state that Chloe (Sage) Jerome was appointed administrator of the estate of Andrew Jerome
