Moses Dunbar was a pronounced and rampant Tory in the Revolutionary period.a He was so bitter and extreme in his feelings and speech, thathe was taken to the Hartford jail, and after a court-martial trial was sentenced to be hung as a traitor, which sentence was speedily executed.

Moses married Phebe Jerome, daughter of Zerubbable Jerome and Phebe Cook. (Phebe Jerome was born in Farmingtion, Conn.)
